Firtree Privacy Policy

The Firtree Privacy Policy sets out how we will deal with your personal information.

What personal information do we collect?

When you join Firtree you are asked to provide the following information:

  • Name
  • Home address.
  • Email address (if any).
  • Phone number.
  • Gift Aid preference.

How do we collect this personal information?

All of this information is collected directly from you, via membership forms.

When you provide this information we also ask that you give written consent for us to store and use your data. Your consent is required in order to ensure that we comply with data protection legislation.

How do we use your personal information?

Members of the Firtree committee use your personal information:

  • To communicate with you.
  • To help administer and plan Firtree’s activities.

We use email, telephone and (rarely) post to advise you of Firtree activities.

With whom do we share your personal information?

We may disclose your personal information:

  • Internally, to committee members and group leaders.
  • Externally, only if we have a statutory duty to do so for legal or other reasons.

How long do we keep your personal information?

Your information will be updated when you renew your annual membership.

Those who do not renew their membership will have their details deleted after six months.

How can you update or correct your information, view it, or have it deleted?

You can do any of the above by contacting the Membership Secretary at any time.

How do we store your personal information?

Your personal information is stored on paper and in digital form on a computer.

We use appropriate security safeguards to protect your personal information against:

  • Loss or theft.
  • Unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

How do we make this Privacy Policy available?

This policy can be viewed on our website www.firtree-reading.com

A paper copy can be viewed at our regular meetings.

How will we tell about any changes to this Privacy Policy?

This policy may need updating from time to time.

If we need to make material changes we will make members aware of these via the newsletter and at regular meetings.

How should you make enquiries about this Privacy Policy?
